Little Highland Farm

About Us

Thank you for visiting the Little Highland Farm website!

Little Highland Farm is located near Bellingham, in the northwest part of Washington state. We are approximately 20 miles from the Canadian border. Carol has lived in this area all her life, while Dale arrived in Washington in 1969. We purchased this farm in 1982, then built our home nestled in the trees and rolling pastures.

The climate here is cool and rather rainy in the winter and absolutely beautiful the rest of the year. This seems to suit our animals very well. Being very adaptable animals, Scottish Highlands do very well in all climates.

Our children are grown and out of the house now. This gives both of us time for hobbies, such as the farm and restoring antique cars. We both are fond of animals, and we share the farm with our "baby dog", Libby. Libby is a Lab/purebred St. Bernard cross; very sweet and BIG, about 110 pounds of love!

Our farm name was derived not only from the Highland breed and the size of the animals, but also from the folks that we purchased our property from. Ralph and Oma Little were like grandparents to us when we first moved to the area. As a respectful legacy to them, we thought it would be very proper and fitting to use their name.

We hope that when you are in the Bellingham, WA area, you will contact us to arrange a visit!
